Long time no post

  1. I came back from Thailand for training, and I learnt something really beneficial that has remained firmly etched in my brain.
  2. Exercise Thailand has made me self reflect on my limitations and deficiencies that I will need to constantly improve on.
  3. I will try to make it brief, and let you digest them yourself.

Lessons

Communication

We don’t care if you are a PHD Graduate or a PSLE holder, if you need to get messages across, make sure you are able to do that properly. If one party is able to get the message across to another, but the other party does not understand, that means there is no communication. I can say “I love you” to my mom with my gentlest of voice, but if my mom does not get it, does that mean she is the wrong for not getting it? Does that mean communication exist? The answer is no for both.

Happiness

If you want to be happy, make sure you get along with others well. The amount of happiness is directly proportionate with the interaction you have with the other parties. Try it out if you don’t believe.

Be Yourself

I was segmented with the Malay Drivers in my bunk. The way they talk sometimes I do not understand as they have tons of Malay Slangs and loads of crappy words underneath their conversations. You do need to act like them to be with them. My entire stay there, I was quiet, being my normal self. It did not matter to me. In the end, they got me into their group and before we knew it, we talked bullshits. People can see if you are acting or being yourself. People prefer the latter. I have this guy who tried to be cool, but gets chased away by them.

Have good perception of others

Everybody is good, no matter how bad they seem to be. If you think good things of others, others will do good to you and vice versa.

Yes, some might be unconvinced, but that is up to your preference. For me, I have been there, done that, and I will never forget the lessons I learn.

There are many more, but my slow brains cannot process them for now.
